Disk imaging to a Samba server worked well, but I'm completely stumped when it comes to restoring the image from the SMB share. As has been reported in other threads relating to HD or USB images, the restore option is completely missing from the 'device-image' menu.
From what I can find in the manual, it seems likely that you cannot mount the samba share in the more usual way and then navigate to the image; instead you have to mount the image directory itself directly. Is that correct?
However, even when I do that, the restore menu option is still missing.
If I open a command prompt, 'ls /home/partimag' returns 'Permission denied' but 'sudo ls /home/partimag' shows the files in the disk image.
If I mount the Samba share on another (freshly booted) computer with the same credentials I can copy the files in the image to the local disk, so share permissions are not the problem.
I guess I could work around this by mounting a second local HD and copying the files over, but it would be better if it could be resolved. Any ideas?
Samba server is Debian 7.5, Clonezilla 2.1.1 LiveCD, imaging Windows 7.1

Clonzilla live 2.1.1 is old. Could you please try the latest clonezilla live?
