I am getting errors when trying to create an image of one of my partitions (NTFS) on a WinXP machine, and it says to check "/var/log/partclone.log" however when I go to the command prompt and go to /var/log that file doesn't exist...  I am assuming this is because I am using the CD version of the LIVE clonezilla, so is the only solution to use a USB stick? or is the file hidden somewhere else (i.e. a RAMdisk or something)?

Sometimes partclone does not write message to the log file. It's possible to increase the verbose mode so more messages can be written to the log file. Will try to add this in the future release.

BTW, what are the error messages? Could you please post them?

      Steven.

Unfortunately I can't, I gave up on using Clonezilla for Acronis TrueImage.  TrueImage seemed to do the trick.

I can tell you what the error codes were related to however.  My HD had some bad sectors so it wouldn't complete the backup.
I am waiting for a replacement HD to come in and I plan on restoring the TrueImage backup, if that doesn't work I plan on using GNUddrescue to try and backup the data.

Sorry, I couldn't post the errors, I really didn't have a way too since they had already scrolled off the screen by the time the FAILED backup had completed and with out a log file there was no way to find them :(

          BassKozz,
Thanks anyway. We will try to improve that in the future release.

          Steven.
