I was just wondering if g4l can multicaste like Novell zenwork 7 without the use of any servers? example: one master computer multicaste(network) image to clients computers. Is this possible?

About your question,
If you mean ghost for linux, please ask the question in g4l website.
If you mean clonezilla server edition, the answer is no. However, maybe it will in the future.

My biggest frustration was try to push out an image from one master computer to client computers through mult-casting without the usimg of server or installing any addition software.

However, live CD is not good for production use. The speed, the way it is used, are all for demo purpose, or a small lab/environment test. If you really want to do a massive clone, like those in the testimonials (http://clonezilla.sourceforge.net/testimonial/), you need to have a dedicated server and an installation is a must.

At my job I use zenwork 7 cd. But when we receive new labtops form dell, the zenwork cd could not detect network driver. so I went online to get instruction for updating drivers. To make a long story short I could not compile the proper driver becuase the zenwork 7 disk kernel ( 2.6.5) was to old. so I tried g4l and clonezilla. after a full day trying to get them to work. I gave up.
Two days later my boss found a modified verson of zenwork 7 with a 2.6.18 kernel. I would love to use clonezilla in the futur.
Alot of IT department have limited amount of servers. But, switches play amore important role in multicast.

zenwork is part of novell. The Zenwork bootcd uses the linux kernel. here is the zenwork forum site and novell:

Just curious, if zenwork 7 software itself, not kernel, is GPL, and it meets your need, why you want to use clonezilla ?
If what you mentioned is all about a live CD, yes, we are improving DRBL live recently. Did you try it before ?

the license should be underd GPL sense they are using a linux kernal.
