I use Clonezilla since some times. I have mount one server with pxe and efi and it's work! (All: pxe/Uefi SATA/M.2...)
However, I received new computers and Clonezilla can't detect SSD PCIe on M.2 slot (called NVme). Juste detect SATA disk
Computers are Dell Precision 3620:
Processor type: Intel Core i5-7500CPU @3,4Ghz
MotherBoard Cruus E93839
M.2 PCIe SSD - PC 401 NVme SK hynix 256GB
I tried use last version of Clonezilla (clonezilla-live-2.5.5-38-amd64) and testing version (clonezilla-live-20180423-bionic-amd64 / clonezilla-live-20180423-artful-amd64) but SSD remains undetected.
I tried install this SSD in old model precision 3620 and it's work, i can see he!
Clonezilla live 2.5.5-42 is available: https://clonezilla.org/downloads.php
It comes with Linux kernel 4.16 so it might support your hardware.
Please give it a try.

Have a Dell Optiplex 3080 (Brand new) with the same issue where Clonezilla will not recognize its hard drive:
DRIVE:
M.2 Pcie SSD-2 (PM991A Nvme Samsung 256GB)
This problem exists with the following latest Clonezillas:
Stable 2.8.1.2 amd64
Alternate Stable 20220103-impish md64
As well as a couple older versions I tried.
Changing 'Raid On" to "AHCI" allowed me to see the computer's hard drive and do a backup. However Windows 11 no longer booted, so had to change it back to Raid On. Will have to change it back to AHCI again if I ever have to do a restore.

Have you ever encountered this problem? Could this come from different processor architecture and drivers?

Hello,
Thank you but i solved this issue!
They are 2 type card SSD M.2:
- SSD PCIe express format M.2
- SSD SATA format M.2
My computers contains 2 disks:
In the bios, when SATA option is "RaidOn" just one disk (sata) is discovred.
After remplaced "RaidOn" by "AHCI" i can see all disk
:) :) :)
I had the same issue with Dell Optiplex 3070 and this setting solved it for me too, thanks !!!
Ha, great. Thanks for sharing that.
Steven
Thank you, it worked for Optiplex 3080. Great !!!

Maybe you can give testing Clonezilla live a try, i.e., 3.0.0-22 or 20220510-jammy.
