    Hello,

first of all - thankx for devoloping such a great cloning-system such as clonzilla-server. I' m using it in several rooms in my school for cloning up to 25 Clients at once. In one room there are pretty old clients with a networkcard RTL 8139C+. I downloaded a boot-cd at rom-o-matic.com for that networkkard, tryed the "all in on version" and so one.

    It goes like that:

When i want to save/restore an Image it boot form drbl-desktop with the corect mesage but hangs after a while before any cloning-activity because of some missing driver ("The networkcard is to old or not supported from the client .... similar like that")

I got used to the luxury of clonezilla-server :) so - how can i get it working for the other room, too? Do i have to add the driver somewhere? I am using debian/etch.

    Thankx in advance

    Volker

      Some tips you can try:
      1. Use the kernel from etchandahalf for your drbl client:
      http://wiki.debian.org/EtchAndAHalf

      2. Follow this FAQ to compile your own module and use that in DRBL clients:
      http://drbl.sourceforge.net/faq/index.php#path=./2_System&entry=11_nvidia_ati_module_for_client.faq
      http://drbl.sourceforge.net/faq/index.php#path=./2_System&entry=10_custom_kernel_for_client.faq
      Or you use "/opt/drbl/sbin/drblsrv-offline -k $KERNEL_RPM/$KERNEL_DEB"

Ok - thanks a lot and i will try that. I'm thinking of setting up a new server anyway next time so is there a distri (maybe ubuntu 6.06 or any other one) that offers more drivers "out of the box" you can recomend?

        Good night & thanks

        Volker

If you want to support more hardware, always use the latest GNU/Linux which comes with latest kernel. Such as Ubuntu 8.04, Fedora 8 (or 9 when it is released), Mandriva 2008.1, OpenSuSE 10.3...

Ok - but Hardy is not supported yet, isn't it?

Actually Ubuntu 8.04 is supported. Forgot to update the doc. Will do that.
