I have a 1 TB HDD with only 366 Gb worth of data on it. I'm trying to use
clonezilla to clone the disk onto a new 512 GB Samsung 950 NVMe M.2 drive.
I've tried doing device-to-device with no success. (gives an error about
not being able to pull disk size from the nvmeon1).
I've tried creating an image and then restoring the image to the device. No
luck there either (can't seem to get past the size mismatch)
Is there anything I can do to get this clone to work. It would save me a
lot of hassle of installing a fresh copy of windows and all of the rest of
my data...
Thanks for the assist.

You can try to enter expert mode, and choose "-k1" and "-icrc":
http://clonezilla.org/clonezilla-live/doc/03_Disk_to_disk_clone/advanced/05-advanced-param.php
However, this method is not always working.
//NOTE// Backup important data before you use Clonezilla. Just in case.
