I have a 64bit Linux installation with UEFI. As advised , I have downloaded the Alternate AMD64 version (Zesty, 20170905), and burnt it to a CD.

When I try and run it, the error message is "Incorrect Magic Number - kernel needs to be loaded first" (or similar).

I also tried with the latest version (Artful 20180119) - this time, later in the process, the error message was "initramfs - unknown file system on /dev/loop0"

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Thanks

Very weird... Please try different CD and on different machine to see if it's hardware issue or not.
