    Hello!

I have downloaded Clonezilla live 1.2.2-26 and burned on CD with verifying. Clonezilla boots fine in my notebook, so I guess the CD is ok. However, no matter which option I try (normal or failsafe), I haven't been able to boot Clonezilla in my desktop.

First I get a message "undefined video mode: 317", but it continues booting. After some 30-40 seconds of more or less normal Linux boot messages, it starts doing syscalls for minutes and minutes and screen after screen of similar messages. After 10 minutes, I stopped it.

Is this normal? What I am doing wrong? My desktop is several years old: motherboard Gigabyte GA-K8NF-9, Nvidia nForce4 chipset, Marvell Yukon 88E8053 network chip, Nvidia 6600 graphics. I have a 24" TFT monitor with 1920x1200 resolution.

Any help how to solve the problem or at least how to better diagnose the problem is much appreciated. Cheers!

Maybe the kernel comes with Clonezilla live 1.2.2-26 is not working very well with your system, so give clonezilla live 20090727-jaunty a try.
Also, please make sure the CD drive on your disk is working well with your CD.
BTW, how about to give USB flash drive Clonezilla live a try?

      Steven.

      Hi Steven,

thank you very much for your quick answer!

I am pretty sure that the drive is OK, it is a brand new BD-drive. I believe my desktop has some problematic combination of hardware, because I have also a problem booting PartedMagic (which I also tried because it includes Clonezilla), see http://forums.partedmagic.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=493.

Anyway, I tried the alternative clonezilla-live-20090812-jaunty and it booted fine :-) Now I just need to learn how to use this extremely powerful piece of software.

Thank you very much again and sorry, trying the alternative Clonezilla should have occurred to me before posting here...

      Cheers!
