I'm using clonezilla-live-1.2.2-14. One one of the partitions (/dev/sda2), I'm getting this error:
Unknown fat type!!
Partclone fail, please check /var/log/partclone.log !
Checking the disk space...
(standard_in) 1: syntax error
Something went wrong!!!
This is the content of /var/log/partclone.log:
initial_image start
open device
open device down
Unknown fat type!!
fdisk partition map output for that device:
/dev/sda2 6 528 4200997+ c W95 FAT32 (LBA)
So
1) Is the whole clone going to fail? Or just that partition? I guess I don't really need that partition's data; as long as the partition map is correct.
2) Is it a bug, or do I have something wrong with my partitions?

Please give the latest testing or experimental Clonezilla live a try. It comes with latest partclone and some bugs were fixed.
Please let us know your results.
Steven.

"Is there a way to do the clone just for /dev/sda2, using the test version of clonezilla? " -> Yes. You can choose "device-device" clone, and choose partition to partition clone. By default, clonezilla will use the existing partitiont table on the target disk. Therefore remember the partition size of sda2 on the target disk is big enough.
//NOTE// Remember to backup important data before you do such a clone.

OK, I will do that.
