i have built a hackintosh Dual boot configuration with osx and xp. Partition table is guid made with Apple's diskutiliy (guid/mbr hybrid). It works pretty well.
When I clone the hole disk to image and back to a new HD, the XP partition won't start up, even when I do all the boot.ini repair and boot fixes.
From HD to Image I use the q2 option. From Image to HD I use beginner mode. Is there something I've missed?

I have used 1.2.2-31 and the new beta 1-1.2.3.-7.
Fact is that Osx on the second partition works well even the bootloader (efi 10.5), i can choose between mac and win.
When I choose xp there is the famous:
"Windows could not start because of a computer disk hardware configuration problem.
Could not read from selected boot disk.
Check boot path and disk hardware."
Is there a way to leave the guid/mbr built from osx untouched?
thanks

And do you use GPT or MBR on that PC? I believe it's MBR, and it should be nothing to do with GPT. Maybe I am wrong since I never try to install a Mac OS on a PC.

It's a hybrid GPT/MBR. Apples diskutility installs it this way. It is guid with a mbr table. I think it is very applelike. It does sync the mbr in the guid patititon table, I think.
After Cloning this must have been screwed up.
Mac OS X does start up normaly. The Mac (efi) bootloader is intact.
It's the Windows side that hangs completely.

Try to enter expert mode, then uncheck the options:
-g auto, -e1 auto, -e2…
Maybe you need to try different comminations, i.e. remove -e1 auto only, then remove -e2 only, then…
Steven.

I have tried all different combinations, but no way to bring back the XP partition to boot up. I've even tried with another identical pc. It doesen't seem to go.
What I've tried to recover: bootcfg /rebuild, then fixboot, fixmbr, chkdsk /r
Allways I see: "Windows could not start because of a computer disk hardware configuration problem"
Strange.

Which version of Clonezilla live are you using?

Your system is running on PC or Mac machine?
Steven.
Well, it's a PC. Pentium 4, ICH6, Sata HD.
And do you use GPT or MBR on that PC? I believe it's MBR, and it should be nothing to do with GPT. Maybe I am wrong since I never try to install a Mac OS on a PC.

Actually I do not have any experience about running Mac OS on a PC… If someone on the forum has such an experience, please share.
Steven.
