I'm trying to clone my two-partition 100GB hard drive to a two-partition 250GB hard drive. My laptop is an Acer 5100-3357 running Vista Home Premium. My C drive is almost completely full and it's almost exclusively due to the Windows file. I tried to clone the drive with Acronis and it appeared to complete successfully but when I exchanged the 250 GB drive with the 100 physically (I had used a USB hard drive enclosure), the 250 was not found… So, I then tried to use Clonezilla USB AND CD Live, but got "Bootmgr missing" when I tried to boot from both. I used Nero Ultra 7 Burning ROM to burn the Clonezilla .iso image after my NTI DVD-Maker created disk failed. No luck with Nero, either. I wasn't even getting the USB and CD versions to attempt to boot until I read about the "space-F12 key sequence" and I'm getting very frustrated. I've built multiple desktop systems and NEVER had the problems I'm having with this hard drive upgrade! I have a Windows 7 upgrade waiting and ready, but can't use it. Why won't Clonezilla Live boot? Is there a BIOS problem? Acer has two new BIOS versions available, but I'm having trouble finding out what issues they correct. Any ideas?

Well, I had looked at that article before, but I found that the BIOS options were very limited. Where I can disable a device in the BIOS of my two desktops, the only way to change the boot order in the Acer is to move it up or down. My Vista OS was pre-installed and I only have recovery disks. I still don't know why the USB and DVD drive won't boot the laptop,

So you have tested all the methods described in
