I'm not able to boot CloneZilla from an 8-16 Gb usb stick formatted Fat32. All works fine with smaller size. What's the problem? syslinux? usb stick? bios?

It's the BIOS.
(In the year 2002 you was able to boot a PC with a camera flash card 8 MB only or with HDD,CD/DVD.)
You can try to use an NTFS formatted USB stick for Clonezilla too.

"I'm not able to boot CloneZilla from an 8-16 Gb usb stick formatted Fat32." -> We can boot Clonezilla live via 8 GB flash disk with FAT32. How did you make the bootable stick? What's the error message when you mentioned "not able to boot"?
Steven.
