-take a SD card or memory stick for a new 'clonezilla live'
-start clonezilla in RAM mode, 'saveparts' for all partitions (backup)

    -start with the windows CD/DVD
    or
-deactivate 'Boot Booster' in the BIOS (F2 or so)
-start from the hidden recovery partition (with F9 or so)
    or from a recovery drive
(look for the manual of the PC)

-remove the old clonezilla on the main partition

    Good luck!

Hehehe,,, I did the same thing!
I Installed clonezilla on my Windows 7 OS. I have two partitions on my drive.
The main partition i wanted to clone was sda2 but wasn't available to clone, but it was mounted and clonezilla wanted me to unmount the drive. I couldn't figure it out till I saw your post Fuch!
      sda1 is where Clonezilla resided,
sda2 is my main windows install drive
sda3 is the extra partitioned drive

Thank you Fuch for getting me started, I was begining to lose my mind.
I used another PC to install the Clonezilla on my USB stick this time
Booted from the USB stick on the computer which I thought was screwed up.
Now, a whole bunch of drives showed up including the one I wanted: sda2

So now, I am in the process of cloning my Windows OS: sda2 to my new drive.
I'll comment later on how that works out.
Now, I'll have to just figure out how to get the partitioned information onto the cloned drive. and remove the partition of the sda1, but that's hours away.

      Hopefully this helps!!!

    Hi,
I did the same thing but on Xubuntu. I thought I was installing Clonezilla to a USB stick but alas...Now I can only boot into Clonezilla. Can anyone advise me how best to remove Clonezilla from my computer and boot back into Xubuntu. Failing that, does anyone know how I could recover all the files on my HDD.

Oops... if you have formatted the partition, then it's difficult for you can recover all the files. You'd better to find an expert to do that for you. If you just overwrite the boot loader, then it's easier. You might be able to use Xubuntu CD/USB installation stick to enter rescue mode, then rerun the boot loader installation.
