When I first entered the BIOS to boot from the Clonezilla on Ventoy USB thumb drive, I had four available boot options including the ones from USB drives.
When I initiated the cloning process, I selected the option to NOT shut down the computer post completion. The cloning process seemed to be complete as I saw some sort of command prompt on the screen indicating it had finished and was waiting for the next command. I entered EXIT and then came another prompt (which I don't remember what it said) appeared. So at this stage I was looking for an opportunity to gracefully shutdown the machine and re-enter the BIOS to disable the source HDD and boot from the target SSD. However, I didn't see any option to reboot other than do a hard power reboot. Before I pressed the Power button, I pulled out the Ventoy USB. At this, I saw some sort of an endless loop of the same error message II don't recall what the message said) scrolling uncontrollably through the screen. At this stage I did an extended press of the Power button to shutdown and reboot. Upon re-entering the BIOS, I noticed that there were only two boot options available: one using the source drive that had Windows 7 and the other the CD ROM drive; no USB. When I rebooted into the source drive Windows 7, I plugged in the Ventoy USB and could see the contents (Clonezilla) in the Windows Explorer. However, when I plugged in the target SSD drive into the same or any other USB port, the computer recognized the drive correctly as the drive showed up in the Systray in the bottom right hand corner, but the drive wouldn't show up in the Windows Explorer for some reason. I'm trying to get my BIOS to a state (with all the available USB boot options) that was prior to booting from the Ventoy/Clonezilla USB. What can I do to achieve that? Also, please help me with understanding what was the scrolling error messages all about post cloning when I pulled out the Ventoy/Clonezilla bootable USB. Below are some pictures of my BIOS post cloning process completion.

You might have to check the file system integrity of your USB flash drive. Using fsck in your MS Windows to do that, or just format it and recreate that using Ventoy.
BTW, next time you can use this command "sudo poweroff" to shutdown your machine "peacefully".

@steven_shiau Thank you for your response. I'll definitely try that. In the meantime I need suggestions from you as to how to get my BIOS USB boot options back. I can only proceed with your recommendations after I get those boot options back. I'm a bit of a novice with BIOS and OS commands in general. Thank you very much

For the BIOS setting, you have to check the manual of your motherboard.
One thing possible is due to the boot mechanism of your USB stick might have gone. Your BIOS does not detect any boot mechanism, so that' why it does not show your USB stick in the boot menu.
