i downloaded and burnt clonezilla-live-1.2.2-26iso to cd, then booted from the disc. i elected one of my usb connected external drives (my L:\ drive) as the destination drive for the image of my entire C:\ drive (there are two partitions on it running Windows XP Pro and Ubuntu v9.0.4 respectively) and set the source as hda1 (my C:\ drive). i set the imaging process going and all was going fine, with a 4:30:00 approximate time for completion. however happy times came to an abrupt close at just 7.5Gigs(approx) imaged!! the message was that clonezilla had run out of space and that i should expand the space available to it, when the destination usb drive still has some 840oddGigs left free on it!!
please can someone advise on what i've done wrong?/what i should do?

Hope the format will solve the problem Clonezilla-live V. 1.2.2-14ISO

Jack,
For "sudo -i", please notice that it's "-i", not "-l" or "-1".
Besides, we need to know the results of "du -ah" after you mount the clonezilla image, i.e. we need to see there is a mounted dir "/home/partimag" shown in the results of "du -ah".
So as posted in the previous post, please run the above commands after clonezilla complains "ran out of space" and exit to command prompt. Not a brand new boot of clonezilla live.
Thanks.
Steven.

Alex,
Could you use Clonezilla live 1.2.2-26 or 20090729-jaunty to try that ?
Maybe it will give different messages ?
Also, the results when you run "df -ah" should give you more info when you use Clonezilla live I think. We can have more info...
Thanks.
Steven.

I just ran fschk/chkdsk on both partitions and started an image with the clonezilla stable live cd: it worked flawlessly. I will test again with the parted magic live cd to see if it still produces the error.

Jack,
Did you mean you use Clonezilla live 1.2.2-14 there ? If so, please give a latest one (1.2.2-26 now) a try.
Or try 20090727-jaunty version.
Steven.
Thank you Steven for taking your time to reply.
Yes I used the latest Clonezilla-live Version 1.2.2.-26.iso.

Alex,
Could you use Clonezilla live 1.2.2-26 or 20090729-jaunty to try that ?
Maybe it will give different messages ?
Also, the results when you run "df -ah" should give you more info when you use Clonezilla live I think. We can have more info...
Thanks.
Steven.
Thx for the suggestion, Steven!
I just ran fschk/chkdsk on both partitions and started an image with the clonezilla stable live cd: it worked flawlessly. I will test again with the parted magic live cd to see if it still produces the error.
