I started cloning a 320gb hd with 2 partitions (15gb and 300 something) and the 15 gb took about 4 hours but the other part has already been going for 23 hours and is now at 29%. The time left was reset and it says 18 hours left. Stats on the screen say device size 304.2/ space in use 218 / free space 86/ elapsed time 3h 15 min after the 20 hour clock already reset/ remaining 18 h .
Something seems wrong and seems like it shouldn't take so long. I have the old hd in an external connected via sata transferring at 38-39 MB.
    Thank u.

Which version of Clonezilla live did you use?
Did you try newer version, e.g. 20120908-quantal?

I downloaded the newest version from the website. The only thing I see on my screen now is part clone v0.2.49. I have never cloned a hd before so this process is totally new to me.  After this I prob never will again lol.

Update. Now at 50.36% elapsed after reset is 22h55m and remaining 22h13m.

And u said try the new version. Is it safe to stop the current version and start over? I only have my phone now so I don't even know if it is possible

Basically it's safe to stop the process. Just remember to shutdown the machine in normal procedure, and of course, before you do the next cloning, remember to backup important data. Just in case.

Well that brings two questions. What would I be stopping it for and I don't have a normal shutdown because I am booted into the program before windows. Do I have the wrong edition? And I am now at 52% with another 20 hrs to go this time

The normal shutdown I mentioned is to follow the shutdown sequence of Clonezilla live in the wizard, not your MS Windows shutdown sequence. This is to make sure the mounted partition could be unmounted clearly. Since you mentioned now it's cloning mode, not imaging mode. I believe now nothing is mounted.

Well I hit cntrl c and when it got to the option to reboot I hit the wrong button and am stuck in Command line. I have zero experience with this and I am lost :( just getting me out of clp would be a great help

In the command line prompt, you can type:
    sudo halt
    to shutdown the machine.
