Hi, I just used CZ-live to backup my first (master hda) hard drive that has 2-5G partitions on a 40G drive. The system also has a second (slave hdb) hard drive that has 1-15G partition with Debian 5.0 installed on it. I run Debian in CLI mode only on this system. It is where the "img" and "iso" files are stored in the home directory.
Partition 1 (hda1) has win98SE and Partition 2 (hda5) has win2000pro on it.
I used the "Clonezilla Live Quick Reference Card" steps:
"A Interface Usage"
"B Initialization 1-4" NOTE: Pay special attention to the first tip "The To RAM option if you have only one optical drive!
"G Image ISO or ZIP File Generation 1-10"
"H Burning The ISO File".
Next I powered down the system and removed the master (hda) 40G hard drive and replaced it with a 20G hard drive as master (hda).
Powered on the system and entered the BIOS Setup -STANDARD CMOS SETUP and set the "Primary Master drive to "AUTO" detect, and "IDE HDD AUTO DETECTION" accepted the new HHD geometry, ESC'd and "SAVE& EXIT SETUP".
Placed BACKUP Clonezilla-live DVD in CDROM-DVD drive and rebooted system. Entered BIOS Setup and "BIOS FEATURES SETUP" and changed bootup to "A", "C", "SCSI". The system rebooted the DVD Clonezilla-live ISO.
Then followed CLQRC steps A, B, and E to restore the BACKUP to the new 20G master hard drive.
Powered down the system, removed the DVD backup disk when prompted, pressed Enter and completed the shutdown.
Powered on the system, entered BIOS Setup and changed the boot order to "C", "CDROM", "A", saved setup and exited.
The GRUB menu came up, selected "Windows 2000 Pro" and login screen for win2k came up. Logged In and happy, happy, wus me! Windows 98SE also ran perfectly also.
Please NOTE! This was about the fourth time I had tried to get to this point... It was through NO FAULT of Clonezilla-live but my errors that caused such delayed success. Much time monitoring the Forums and READING & RE-READING the "Clonezilla Live Quick Reference Card" was included.
Hope this encourages and helps in some way.
