Which version of Clonezilla live were you using ? If it's 1.2.2-14, could you please try 1.2.2-24 ?
There are some issues about partclone were fixed in 1.2.2-24.

I'm having the same problem.
I have a 500 GB disk with a 100MB /boot partition and the rest in a single partition for LVM.
/boot clones OK but when it tries to clone the LVM partition it stops and complains
that I don't have enough free memory. I tried it both with 1.2.2-14 and 1.2.2-24
Best regards.

OK, we will try to reproduce this problem, and try to fix it.
BTW, does this problem exists in disk to disk clone, or it also fails in the disk to image save ?

I was using 1.2.2-14. I cloned the partition manually and so unfortunately I can no longer verify what the status of this is in 1.2.2-24.
If this is a known common issue then it might be worth maybe mentioning it clearly, somewhere obvious, for future users. It is not something I expected for the latest stable release.

Sorry, I forgot to ask, about "I was using 1.2.2-14. I cloned the partition manually and so unfortunately I can no longer verify what the status of this is in 1.2.2-24.", so did you mean 1.2.2-24 is working ? Or the problem to clone your 750 GB harddrive to 2 TB disk still exists ?
Yes, if it's the confirmed bug, definitely we will put it on the known issue.
Thanks.

Hi,
I have a 750gb hard disk with the following setup:
256meg boot
4 gb swap
250gb root
~500gb (remainder) lvm partition
I tried to clone this to a 2tb disk using the raw copy.
When it got to the 500gb partition it failed with the following error:
get device size 499973644800 by ioctl BLKGETSIZE64.
Ther is no enough free memory, partclone suggests you should have 976515701 bytes memory
I was quite surprised that this failed as 500gb is not exactly gigantic by today's standards.
My system also has 4gb of memory.
Could somebody please tell me if clonezilla is actually capable of raw cloning 500gb partitions? If so, what is the trick to doing this?

Howdy, to clarify, I have only tested this in 1.2.2-14. After it didn't work I manually built and duplicated the partition.
I will see what happens with 1.2.2-24 and this partition if I can find some time and spare hardware.
Adante,
Thanks. Please keep us posted.
