Sorry, I'm a complete novice when it comes to this kind of stuff and Clonezilla is a little more involved than the normal point and click kind of stuff I'm used to so forgive me if my questions are kind of ignorant, but here goes!
Can I use Clonezilla to save an image to a mac os extended journaled drive?
Also, can you save an image to a drive that contains information you don't want to overwrite?
I tried to save a disc image to a mac os extended journaled drive and Clonezilla gave me a message about how I probably shouldn't do that because it was journaled and it might have issues. It also made it sound like it could wipe out the rest of what's on the drive when I tried to save the disc image. I'm using a 1.5 terabyte firewire 800 drive if that makes any difference.
I really wanted to use Clonezilla to save an image of my hard drive that contains a snow leopard partition and a windows 7 partition but I fear it may be too difficult for me. Should I try something like Paragon hard disk manager?
If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
"Can I use Clonezilla to save an image to a mac os extended journaled drive?" -> I believe the answer is _no_, since the file system is read-only for GNU/Linux.
"can you save an image to a drive that contains information you don't want to overwrite?" -> Yes, if the file system is writable for GNU/Linux, e.g. FAT, NTFS, ext3/4…
Steven.
