Hi,
first of all, thank you for creating this awesome tool.
I've got a fresh Asus Notebook G501VW with an SM951 (NVMe) SSD.
I just needed a short term backup, so I wanted to backup onto the same local SSD (mode device->image).
My old cz version seemed to work fine and I was able to set /home/partimag to the data partition on the SSD.
My goal: GPT partitions 1,2,3,4 -> GPT partition 5
(The version was clonezilla-live-2.4.5-23-amd64)
Afterwards I needed another backup, but decided to update my clonezilla. Then the problems started :P
I downloaded the current clonezilla-live-2.4.7-8-amd64.
Afterwards I tried clonezilla-live-2.4.7-31-amd64 &
like said here https://sourceforge.net/p/clonezilla/discussion/Clonezilla_live/thread/97a7870a/ ,
I tried the xenial version clonezilla-live-20160627-xenial-amd64 with same results: It didn't work.
(btw:
EFI mode on,
Secure Boot off and
BIOS just offers AHCI mode)
These versions have this new screen with "every 3.0s: ocs-scan-disk"
And it tells me:
======================
excluding busy partition or disks
/dev/nvme0n1
======================
So I can't set it as a local target ...
I read on some forums here, that it might be due to secure boot, but enabling/disabling didn't help ...
(With EFI on only xenial worked)
Then I restored to clonezilla-live-2.4.5-23-amd64 and I could use the nvme SSD again.
update:
Did find Clonezilla live 2.4.6-3 here on Sourceforge:
Doesn't work: Finds the device, but can't even find the Serial#
Found clonezilla-live-2.4.5-38-amd64 on free.nchc.org:
Didn't expect that. It doesn't work, too. (No new ocs-scan-disk menu, but doesn't show the nvme partitions)

I am a little confused about what you have mentioned here:
These versions have this new screen with "every 3.0s: ocs-scan-disk"
And it tells me:
\======================
excluding busy partition or disks
/dev/nvme0n1
\======================
So I can't set it as a local target ...
Did you mean you press Ctrl-C after the message "every 3.0s: ocs-scan-disk" shown on the screen, then it shows you:
\======================
excluding busy partition or disks
/dev/nvme0n1
\======================
Or?
BTW, on which device did you put Clonezilla live?

Hmm, sort of.
Clonezilla is on sda1 (external usb flash drive). I have no other storage devices besides these two connected.
First there is this "ocs-scan-disk" "screen" or message with the output listed above.
\======================
excluding busy partition or disks
/dev/nvme0n1
\======================
Below there is this yellow text "update periodically ..."
(btw: /dev/sda is not listed there)
Then I press CTRL+C . The screen/view changes to the selection of what to mount as /home/partimag
I want to select /dev/nvme0n1p5, but it's not listed there. There are only some other sda partitions (sda2, sda6),

I have also some screenshots/photos of this problem if needed.
I didn't find anything regarding "busy partition" and there are only 3 nvme related threads ...
How can I help to find this bug ?
Should I follow this instruction ?
http://drbl.org/faq/fine-print.php?path=./2_System/21_how_to_debug_clonezilla.faq#21_how_to_debug_clonezilla.faq
Or I can try Clonezilla live 2.4.6-3 vs Clonezilla live 2.4.5-38
That's where the ocs-scan-disk was introduced ...
Best regards
Conker

Ok, update:
The current testing releases (clonezilla-live-2.4.8-7-amd64 and 20160919-yakkety) work both as expected.
Cool. Thanks for the feedback.
