My surface pro 3 (running WIndows 10) is dying. I'm going to be getting an out of warranty exchang through Microsoft. The new device should be nearly identical. Should I be able to clone the former machine and put it on the new machine? The machines should have almost identical specs though they will have been manufactured at different times so there may be some differences. Any thoughts?

Basically the answer is yes. However, not sure if MS Windows will check the harddrive and treat it as different hardware. If so, you might have to re-active it.
