I've had this happen before on other machines and I need to know what going on with it. The full error:
Failed to restore partition image file /tmp/clone-name-img-tmp-cnvted/sda1 to /dev/sda1! Maybe this image is corrupt or there is not /tmp/clone-name-img-tmp-cnvted/sda1! If you are restoring the image of partition to different partition, check the FAQ on Clonezilla website for how to make it.
    Press "Enter" to Continue.......

Any idea why I get this error?

    Shameless Self Bump.

Any ideas what might cause this? Or should I just assume is a bad clone?

What is the name of your image really ?
What partition can you see in the image ?
    e.g. sda3.ntfs-ptcl-img.gz.aa or so
You can send us the 'blkdev.list' as an attachment.

    Name: /tmp/QTS-NewDashboard-2014-08-01-img-tmp-cnvted/sda1
    Partition:
    cciss-c0d0p1.ext3-ptcl-img.gz.aa
    VolGroup00-LogVol00.ext3-ptcl-img.gz.aa - VolGroup00-LogVol00.ext3-ptcl-img.gz.ah

If I right understand it is a special RAID application for HP
with a clonezilla version (?) for CD (isolinux.cfg).

I think you only should take the partition names (because of the special drivers):
    cciss!c0d0p1 |-cciss!c0d0p1 102M
    cciss!c0d0p2 `-cciss!c0d0p2 67.7G
    (not /dev/sda1 )

You can make a look for
'Cloning a disk that took part in an old RAID'
    in 'Clonezilla live'
    or in
    http://cciss.sourceforge.net/
