I have not had any problems with Clonezilla until now. The following is a result of running the bug report. I have also looked at a similar thread in the Live forum that suggests using partition resotre, but this did not work for me. I have filled in the bug report andhopefully someone can help me.
Cheers
Octavius
Description of problem:
I have created a disk image using
clonezilla-live-1.2.3-27 which results in the following files being created:
sda-pt.sf
sda-chs.sf
sda-pt.parted
sda-hidden-data-after-mbr
sda-mbr
list.txt
Info-lshw.txt
Info-dmi.txt
Info-lspci.txt
Info-packages.txt
parts
disk
sda1.ntfs-ptcl-img.uncomp.aa
sda2.ntfs-ptcl-img.uncomp.aa
sda3.ntfs-ptcl-img.uncomp.aa
When trying to restore the disk I have the error: No disk image is found in /home/partimag… However when I go to the command line I am able to see all the files above in /home.partimage, so I know it is mounting alright.
The path for the files is: /mnt/vol001/bhres01/2010-02-15-15c-img/
How reproducible:
Create image and then try to restore
Steps to Reproduce:
Image Creation: Booting into Clonezilla, then: device-image - Mount NFS location - Expert - Savedisk - 2010-02-15-15c-img - select disk - -q2 Priotrity partclone (I have tried -q here as well) - -ntfs-ok - -z1 or -z0 (again either option hs resulted in the sam error) - for size used 100000000 - -p
Image Restore: Selected restoredisk to recover the image
Actual results:
When trying to restore the disk I have the error: No disk image is found in /home/partimag… However when I go to the command line I am able to see all the files above in /home.partimage, so I know it is mounting alright.
Expected results:
I would expect there to be an image to recover from.

As you can see it is mounting the files alright. One question, is there any particular file permissions required for Clonezilla to be able to use the image files. They are currently set to rw. Below is the results from an 'ls -l':
Just noticed that the image files have a '.img' extension in the above list. Please ignore that, it was me trying stuff out. It does not work with or without that extension.
Cheers

"is there any particular file permissions required for Clonezilla to be able to use the image files." -> read mode is a must when you want to restore the image.
Looks like there are some extra files in the image dir. Did you try to edit that dir manually? Or?
Steven.

I have read rights set, and they only thing I have done in the directory since encountering the problem is:
1. Run the find and exported that to a txt file
2. Run the bug repot to a txt file
3. Tried to rename the image files to .img incase that was the problem. It made no difference.
So my issue remains. I can image the PC to the server, I can then run clonezilla to reimage the files, but despite the fact the image files can be seen in the /home/partimg/ mount path, Clonezilla reports that no image file can be found.
It is a strange affair.

Sorry, I am a little confused about this:
"I can image the PC to the server, I can then run clonezilla to reimage the files, but despite the fact the image files can be seen in the /home/partimg/ mount path, Clonezilla reports that no image file can be found."
Did you mean you can save the disk as an image, and you can restore the image to the disk, but Cloenzilla still reports the image file can _NOT_ be found?
Steven.
