I'm new to the complete Clonzilla Backup procedure and nearly did a terrible mistake, because I nearly deleted all my Data on the Backup Drive. I want to create a Backup of my local Computer and a Server ( with CentOS running) via Clonzilla Bootable Stick on my external Hard Drive. While I was testing I saw, that if you follow the common tutorials all Data on the target device will be erased and new partions will be created. That is exactly what I don't want to do, because I still have a lot of important old Data on my EXT Drive.
How can I create an image of my computer + server on the Hard Drive without deleting everything?
Many thanks in advance.
and a happy new year ( if you read this on sunday or every other day after it)
Best Regards
Dennis

To save a disk as an image, you can follow:
http://clonezilla.org/show-live-doc-content.php?topic=clonezilla-live/doc/01_Save_disk_image
It will put the image on the image repository, say, destination disk. It won't erase all the data on the destination disk.
If you use disk to disk cloning:
http://clonezilla.org/show-live-doc-content.php?topic=clonezilla-live/doc/03_Disk_to_disk_clone
Then yes, it will overwrite all the data on the destination disk.
That's the difference between "imaging" and "cloning".

I want to clone my C:\ partition containing the OS to an SSD drive.
Clonezilla warned that it would overwrite the contents of "hard drive"
It's not completely clear whether this means just the target drive... is there any chance it might overwrite the source drive ?
When you run disk to disk cloning,
https://clonezilla.org/show-live-doc-content.php?topic=clonezilla-live/doc/03_Disk_to_disk_clone
In this dialog menu:
https://clonezilla.org/clonezilla-live/doc/03_Disk_to_disk_clone/images/ocs-07-source-disk.png
You should be able to identify which one is source disk, and which one is destination disk. In Clonezilla, no matter it's hard drive or SSD, we all call it hard drive.
