I am a windows user so I am not sure on a lore of linux things so please excuse my ignorance.
I have a 160 gb drive in my laptop that I need to replace. I want to image my current drive to a network location and then restore after installing my new 500 gb drive.
My question are
1 Does clonezilla create a single image file or multiple
2 I am assuming that I can store to an existing directory on a nas server and I will see 1 or more files in that directory. Am I correct.
3 Can I restore the image to 500gb drive.
4 How will it restore. Does it do a 500 gb partition or will it create a 160 gb partition. Can I then increase the size of the partition afterwards. If not do I need to a create a 160 gb before I start.
Thanks in advance
Ron

As for your questions,
1 and 2: Clonezilla will create an image dir, inside there are many files:

3. Yes.
4. Both. In the beginner mode, it will restore to an 160 GB partition. You can also enter expert mode, use option "-k1", then Clonezilla will create the partition sizes proportionally on the destination disk:
http://clonezilla.org/clonezilla-live/doc/02_Restore_disk_image/advanced/09-advanced-param.php
It's recommended to read this step-by-step doc before you use Clonezilla live:
