    Hello,

I am trying to do a disk to disk clone to a 320gb Hitachi hard disk (via USB) from a Toshiba 320gb hard disk on a Dell laptop with 32bit Win 7.

I am following the steps on the Clonezilla site http://clonezilla.org/show-live-doc-content.php?topic=clonezilla-live/doc/03_Disk_to_disk_clone

However, when I am running the process, I get the message telling me that my destination disk is too small. Specifically, I compared the two sizes of the source and target and I am exactly 1 sector off i.e. the target is 1 sector smaller.

How do I recover this one sector from the target? Is there something I have to do to "prepare" the target disk for Clonezilla? I tried formatting it and also leaving the disk unallocated without formatting but neither worked. How can I recover this single sector to make the clone work?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I was restoring an image to the exact disc from which the clone was made and got this problem. The resolution was that the disk was cloned when it was a mounted internal install and the restore was attempted when the disc was mounted in a USB enclosure. My guess was the the USB enclosure uses a sector when mounting. So I moved the disc back to an internal mount in and voila' it worked fine.

      Good luck.
