Hello, just wondering if Clonezilla has any way of verifying that data cloned from a dying hard drive is not corrupted. I worry that if I tried to clone data from a dying hard drive to a healthy one that the data might not all make it in one piece in its original form. Is this something to be concerned with? Are there built in mechanisms in the hard drive to remedy the situation? Does Clonezilla contain code to remedy the situation? Also have noticed in the past that Norton Ghost and Acronis True Image have data verification options in the clone process. How come Cloenzilla doesn't have such a feature? Thanks for the help!
-Josh
If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
It's possible you can try to use the "-rescue" option in the expert mode to make it.
BTW, "data verification" is automatically by CRC checking when partclone is run. In the future, we will have better mechanism , e.g. md5sum, sha1sum… to check that.
