I've had a weird problem lately. When I tried to save an image, it starts off at a speed of about 3.65GB/minute. Then every 1-2 seconds, the speed drops by 0.02GB/minute. After it drops to somewhere around 1 GB/minute, all progress stops. The speed keeps dropping at the same rate, the ETA and Time Passed keeps adjusting, but nothing else changes. The block number it is on stays the same forever, and each time its a different number.
I've tried this several times on the same computer and on others. The only constant is the 1TB Transcend External HDD that I'm trying to save to. I have another drive that's identical to the first, and it works just fine when I save images to it, but that drive is now completely dead, and so I need to get the first one working. I've wiped everything off of it, I've deleted all partitions, I've reformatted it, and this weird problem keeps occurring.
Is there anything else I can do to this drive to get it to save images correctly?
PS. I was using a seperate bootable partion on the 1TB external drive in question to load Clonezilla to RAM, but switched to a different bootable flashdrive for troubleshooting purposes.

If the file system integrity is OK on your external hard drive, then maybe the issue is on the hardware?
