I am trying to use desk top short cut to rerun some of my more common commands. I am having an issue in regards to multicast. Uni-cast, shutdown, wake-on-lane commands all work fine. But mulitcast start and then hangs. I have been using : kdesu -u root "konsole -e /opt/drbl/sbin/dcs" and gksu -u root "gnome-terminal -x /opt/drbl/sbin/dcs". I have isolated the issue to "gnome-terminal -x /opt/drbl/sbin/dcs" same for KDE version by running from a terminal. I would like to expand to rerun some of the more common scripts but with this issue I can not proceed.

OOps... Something went wrong with the "monitor this forum" function in my sf account. I did not get any notification about this. Sorry for the late response.
About your question,
Try to use "sudo" instead of "gksudo" or "kdesu", and set the config in the icon to let it run "in the terminal".
