So I have a mac mini (2007) that I just installed a new hdd in. It is being used as a media server and prior to swopping the drives, I made a clone image of the original drive, including the media.
After installing the new drive, the machine will not boot. Instead I get the flashing folder icon with the question mark. Which indicates it can't find the startup disk. I ended up installing a clean install of Ubuntu Server and it boots fine, no issues.
One thing to note: I installed a clean copy of Ubuntu Server before restoring the drive, when the drive was brand new. That install used the LVM or whatever that partioning is called, and I don't believe I did that on the original drive. No idea if that matters, but just pointing it out.
Any ideas? Clearly I'd like to get the clone to work and avoid reconfiguring everything. And I don't want to think about having to rescue my media files, that doesn't seem like it would be fun.
Anyway, sorry if I rambled and thanks for any help.

Could you please show me the parition layout on your Mac mini?
You can run this command on Clonezilla live command line prompt:
sudo parted -s /dev/sda print
Then post the results.
Thanks.
Steven.
