I have an LVM physical volume that occupies the whole disk. I.e. there is no partition table on that disk. Clonezilla refuses to back it up, i.e. when I choose the correspondent device (let's say /dev/sdb), Clonezilla outputs "No input device!" and does nothing.

I found a similar bug filed in 2010 (https://sourceforge.net/p/clonezilla/bugs/69/) with a promise that something should be implemented in future to support it.

Does Clonezilla support it and I just cannot find how to do it? How can I manage to back up a disk that has only a PV, but no partitions?

Good point... Sorry we did not make this... Now with native device name is supported, it should be easier to make this. Thanks for asking again, and we should implement this for sure.

    Steven.

    Hi Steven,

Thanks! I'm looking forward to it. Do you need any programming help?

Sure. If you can give us patch file, that will be easier for us to have this function ready.
    Thanks.

    Steven.
