I’m trying to do an image backup of a Windows 10 computer with a 1TB SSD. The main OS partition is detected as “raw” by Clonezilla and the backup is estimated to take over 5 hours. Is it taking a long time because the partition is detected as raw? Also, shouldn’t the partition be detected at NTFS? I checked in Windows and it says that c: does not have Bitlocker enabled. I’m just worried that something is wrong and I will not be able to restore my backup should I need it.
Bitlocker is the NTFS but it is encrypted.
We do not support decrypte that when saving it as an image. Hence if you care about the rate, you can unlock the bitlocker in your MS Windows.
With that, Clonezilla will have better efficiency.

Your problem is the RAW capturing of the partition, this makes a copy of all sectors.
The most possible cause is that windows is in a hybernation state. This changes the partition
type, therefore clonezilla doesn't recognise it as an NTFS partition. Other cause could be that
bitlocker is active or in a pre-deployment state. You can check this by making sure that bitlocker is disabled.
For the hybernation state, start windows and when you click on the shutdown button, keep the left shift pressed-down until the system is off.
Then try again to make an image.
