"this partition in the image is broken: sda1" -> This means that the saved image is broken. It does not mean your partition is broken.
Maybe due to some reason (hardware issue, e.g. bad RAM) that caused the saved image broken…

hi sourceforge.net user,
i wanted to create an image with clonezilla of my windows 2008 server.
but when i start clonezilla, occurs on 7,62% an error message with "this partition in the image is broken: sda1"
the server is working completely normal. im saving and reading files on both partitions (c: and d:) daily without any problem..
how can this be? i mean if my harddisk is broken, but why can i still use them without any problem?
im sry for my bad english, i hope you can understand my problem/question.
thanks, apo-dark

hello steven,
thank you for your idea, you are right!
I tried to create an image of my windows 2008 server harddisk by adding it in an other pc as an second hdd and run clonezilla.
It works now!
I think I used maybe the wrong clonezilla version, because I tested the RAM and HDD with an diagnostic tool yesterday.
The test results were all fine.
Thank you very much again for your help Steven!
greetings, apo-dark
OK, cool. Thanks for confirming that.
Steven.
