I have create a hyper v guest on Windows 2012 R2. The guest is baremetal with 60 GB virtual disk. I am able to restore an image using clonezilla, but at the end after restoring an image, it is asking me to create a partition using cfdisk or fdisk. I used cfdisk to set existing partition in MBR format, but the vm guest is not booting from it. I would like to know few things:
i) What is the correct option in cfdisk to select partition type, this will be only partition on this guest.
ii) Do i set the type of partition before restore or after restore?
Any help is highly appreciated.
If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
" at the end after restoring an image, it is asking me to create a partition using cfdisk or fdisk." -> In normal steps if it's a restoring for whole disk, it should not ask this. No idea why.
Did you use "restoreparts" instead of "restoredisk"?
Steven.
