I have a brand new Dell Optiplex 790, which I successfully copied a base image of itself as a back up. But now when I try to re-image it over with a 790 base image we have from a year ago, I'm getting "Cannot have disk outside partition" error? It will not let me proceed, why am I getting this?

Are you sure the destination disk is equal to or larger than the source one?
Or if it's SSD, please refer to this:
