    Hi guys,

I was trying the live USB image of clonezilla to make a backup of a new windows 8 tablet and when I choose any of the options I get the following error:

    • Waiting for /dev to be fully populated... i2c-1: Failed to register i2c client HIMX2056
    • failed to add I2C device from ACPI
    • Kernel panic, not syncinc - Fatal exception in interrupt.

Adding a link with the complete error message... any idea what could be the cause and what I could try to bypass the error? Once it reaches that point, it just freezes/hangs on there... it doesn't carry on...

The version I was using is: clonezilla-live-2.3.1-18-i686-pae(Debian).iso, I've tried with the alternative Ubuntu version i386 as well (that one stopped at one point asking me for utopic user... so I couldn't carry on) and another alternative version based on amd64 (as I read we had to use this for booting in UEFI mode, but this one didn't even enter in the menu).

Not sure how to progress... or any other alternative software supporting UEFI windows 8 drives?

    Many thanks!

So did you try Clonezilla live
    20141224-utopic or 20141224-vivid on
    http://clonezilla.org/downloads.php
    ?

    Steven.
