I tried to backup the system disk (Windows 2008) of a Fujitsu RX2530M1 server. Locally, this server has only a SSD SATA 6G 128GB DOM (disk on motherboard). It is also attached to a SAN where it has 3 volumes. The destination disk is an USB HDD of 1TB used for years with clonezilla with decent performance.
The backup of this server was extremely slow : 200MB/min (for a flash disk !!) and falling. I have cancelled the backup after 20 minutes as the planned duration was over 2 hours (for some 35GB of reported data).
Any hint to improve the performance ?
Thanks in advance,
Eric.

Not sure if this is Linux kernel supporting hardware issue.
Did you try the latest stable clonezilla live, like 20160203-wily or 2.4.5-20 on http://clonezilla.org/downloads.php
?
