    Hello,

I have been using successfully Clonezilla on my Debian 6.0.4 server for about a year, last week I upgraded with "aptitude" the drbl to the 2.3.16 version and all the problems started:

I am not longer able to clone any machine as I get the error "Unable to find target hard drive: "sda". maybe (1) The kernel is too old…"

When I run the command the command ** "drblsrv -i "** and choose the option "1 -> i586 CPU architecture"

It returns the follow message: The CPU arch option for your clients: 1
For the distribution you are using, only i386 and i686 architectures are available, so the optimization level is changed from i586 to i386!!!
No optimization was set for your client system, we will use the "i386" packages.

In the past I could avoid this problem only when I used the "1 -> i586 CPU architecture" option, but apparently now it is not longer available for my drbl. I have tried everything I have found on forums but cannot find the way to use the i586 arquitecture.

I have cloned in the pass lots of machine; these are the models I used:
    IBM T-400
    IBM T-430
    IBM R-51

Can somebody help me in this regard? any help will be highly appreciated!

    Thx in advance.

    My bad,

After lots a lots of trys I found out it was my mistake, I was focus on the drblsrv -i command when the problem was in the drblpush -i command:

in the option "In the system, there are 3 modes for diskless linux services:"
I was choosing ** I do NOT want to provide diskless Linux service to client.
once I changed it to ** DRBL SSI (Single system image) mode, every client uses tmpfs based /etc and /var
    , the kernel error disappeared.

Now I am clonning 120 machines at times using multicast,  but that is another topic.

    Regards,

    Sure.
So do you have any problem using multicast restoring?

    Steven.
