I wonder if the kernel version is at least 2.6.27-rc9 then? Is it possible to compile your own driver on the clonezilla system and add it to the network bootable kernel? (please excuse me if I sound stupid since i have quite poor knowledge of linux kernels)

The kernel in experimental Clonezilla live is 2.6.27 (ubuntu-based), but looks like it's not rc9 or the final release. If there is another kernel available for Ubuntu intrepid, another experimental clonezilla live will be created and put on the download area.

Either way, you can compile the driver on DRBL server or on client. If you follow that URL to compile it on your client, actually the file will be saved to DRBL server.

Yep, it works well with Ubuntu 8.04. I didn't quite get your message about compiling the driver since you seem to say in the message that you can compile it on the server but in the url you give you talk about compiling the module on the client. A good basic instruction about compiling would be most helpful. Thanks a lot for your help though :)

Has anyone had any joy imaging a Dell Latitude 4300 laptop yet?
Clonezilla doesn't seen to have the network card drivers for it. Even tried the experimental branch of Clonezilla Live, still no joy.
Even tried finding out what is says with a Knoppix CD, still no Joy, even that couldn't find out what it was called with "lspci"
When windows boots up on it, it says the NIC is a:
Intel (R) 82567LM Gigabit NIC
Any help? Pleeeeease ;-) I don't want to manually install Vista on these things! Takes about half a day!
Cheers,
Tom
...that should read E4300 by the way... sorry :-$
Did you try experimental or testing Clonezilla live ? Those 2 branches use newer kernel (2.6.26 or 2.6.27), so maybe it will work there.
Yeah, tried that, didn't work either :-(
I have the same problem on my Lenovo T400's. Same 82567LM chip on these.

What are the prospects of getting this chip working in Clonezilla SE in the future?
"getting this chip working in Clonezilla SE" ?
It depends on your GNU/Linux, not Clonezilla SE, since the module is part of your GNU/Linux.
Actually you can download the driver source codes, compile it on your DRBL server, then run drblsrv/drblpush again. Remember to choose the client is using same CPU level with server.
