hi I made a backup of my 300 GB partition with only 10 GB used and 290 free, I can not upload this backup to a hard disk of 200 gb. you must disable the size checking with the -C but do not understand how.
thanks

hello, I have the backup saved on my hard disk (image) outside and I want to upload the image to another hard disk, smaller than the original, but with enough free space.
clonezzilla tells me to disable size checking with the-C option but I do not understand. thanks

Still confused…
"want to upload the image to another hard disk, smaller than the original, but with enough free space" -> Did you mean you want to copy (e.g. rsync, scp, or cp command) that to another space? If so, how about the saved image size?
You can run "du -hs $YOUR_IMAGE" to see the image dir size.
However, from your another description "clonezzilla tells me to disable size checking with the-C option" looks like you are using Clonezilla to restore the image to a smaller partition or disk… If so, how about the source partition size when you saved the image? Clonezilla uses that instead of the used data size.

hi
I using Clonezilla to
restore the image in smaller than the original hard disk.
clonezzilla tells me to disable size checking with the -C option
original hard disk is 300 gb
new hard disk is 200 gb
bye

It's a risk to use "-C" option. Since you are forcing the data blocks to be written to their original places. If you are lucky, or if you are sure all the used blocks are in the first 200 GB, yes, you can use "-C" option. Otherwise the restored file system will be broken.

update
When you mentioned "backup", did you mean to save an image or to clone it to another partition or disk?
