Greetings,
I've been battling with cloning my laptop 1T system drive for days now.
I've cloned it to an identical drive of the source with no errors, but when
I replace the source with the clone and boot , the laptop doesn't see the
drive. I've checked the bios for problems and the bios doesn't see the
drive. However, If I put the source drive back and the clone as a second
drive, the system boots fine and I can access the cloned drive and see that
it "looks" identical to the source.
I've tried grub-customizer, boot-repair, scanning with gparted, all claim
to have completed with no problems, yet I can't replace the clone with the
source. I tried another target drive and had the same results.
Why is the clone not identical to the source?
In your BIOS, the cloned disk can not be detected? That's weird...
Acutally I have no idea why except the hardware issue. However, from what you have mentioned, it looks not.
Anyone on this forum has same experience? If so, please share how you deal with that.
Thanks.
Steven
