I want to clone my computers harddisk containing Ubuntu. Can I clone it using clonezilla? Also, I can't afford to loose the data inside of my external harddisk[OSX Journal format]. Is it possible?

Clonezilla live is running on GNU/Linux, and it does not support HFS+ writing very well. Therefore it's not recommended to use that as the image repository.
