I made a bootable CD with Clonezilla. When I attempt to boot up with it, it tells me something is missing, attempting to "wing it" and then it tells me it can't find the CD-rom device. How is it that a program running off a CD can't find the disc it's running from? Sorry I can't give you the specific error message. That computer is at another location.

This is a very old computer running Windows 98 I am attempting to back up by cloning it's hard drive, but I am not having any luck. I have also tried Easeus Disk Copy with the same result. I had earlier replaced the failing CD rom device with a newer DVD writer, but up to now it's functioned as expected.

    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

I found a reference to a similar problem on another site. This is what the error messages were
isolinux: Loading spec packet failed, trying to wing it.
isolinux: Failed to locate CD-ROM device; boot failed.
