After imaging, the XP laptop's wireless card appears to be diabled. However, when I look into Device Manager, it is enabled. I am using Odyssey for wireless, and it just says "searching for adapter." This also happens after I take the image of a pc, the wireless card then starts working. This has happened for several kinds of laptops. I was able to fix the issue with Windows 7 by using the Connection Manager, but I am using Odyssey for my XP laptops so not sure what to do.

Yes, to the pc that gives the image and the pc that is imaged. The problem is because the system (XP operating system) is using Odyssey for the wireless, and once the pc has been imaged, it just says 'searching for adapter", but when I look at the wireless card, it says it's enabled. I can't figure out what is being turned off. I looked at the Zero Wireless, and it is on. When I had this problem for Windows 7, I just installed HP Connection manager, and was able to get it to work that way, but with using Odyssey, I can't figure it out.

I just re-read my answer to you. No, I can't enable the wireless after imaging the pc within the program I'm using Odyssey (xp pc). I'm not sure how Clonezilla is turning off the wireless.

Yes, I had this one with a Belkin bluetooth USB stick
only with Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (/dev/sda8)
but not with Windows XP (/dev/sda2).
I had stored a disk image with
clonezilla-live-1.2.12-67-i686-pae
and restored with
clonezilla-live-1.2.9-19-i486.iso (from September 2011).
All the others were impossible to restore.
Then I must delete the old settings and activate new settings
with the search of new bluetooth device.
Best regards

All the images appear to be fine. It's just Clonezilla is doing something to the wireless portion once it's imaged so when I use Odyssey client in XP, it doesn't work. Wireless appears to be on, but it says "searching for adapter."

I am sure that Clonezilla won't touch the files on the source disk. Therefore I guess maybe it's because the wireless card was detected in Linux environment when Clonezilla live was startup and due to some reason something was triggered… This is the only thing I can guess now.
Not sure if a firmware update for your wireless card would cure this issue or not…

I should say after taking the image of the pc, the wireless card STOPS working.
Did you mean the other machine which you have restored the image to?
If not, I can not find reason why this will happen.
Could you enable it again?
Steven.

It's very weird…
Anyone on this forum has similar issue?
