I'm trying the Experimental Ubuntu live edition to be able to backup an Ext4 partition, on a Dell Mini9. Unfortunately, I can't display the menu, all I can see if the grey background, and if I press any key, I will see the last line of the menu "press Tab to edit options" scrolling up and disappearing. And that's it, I can't do anything else. If I just press "enter", I'm asked for a password, but I don't know what to answer.
So currently I'm backing up my ext4 system with the alternate solution, it's working fine but of course it's slower and take a lot of space on the server. Is there any solution to this problem?

FrancoisFF,
Are you using USB flash drive to run Clonezilla live ?
If so, did you use syslinux 3.71 or later to make it bootable ? If you use older one, it will not work. The problem is exactly the one you mentioned.
Arghhhh I already had the same problem, and I didn't remember the solution. You are right, I used a software to install the ISO on the USB key, and the syslinux was probably too old. It's working now. Thanks for your help, and sorry for the silly mistake again.

Or you can follow
