Hey folks, not a power user here (can barely use bash. Sometimes.) and
I'm running into this weird error when trying to restore a disk image.
I backed up a whole disk with both a windows 7 partition (I use it to
run one program, no internet access) and a Linux Mint partition. I
also encrypted it. When trying to restore I go through all the prompts
and I get the error "Check if the partition sda1 really exists,
otherwise maybe the kernel is too old". I downloaded and used the
latest version of clonezilla as of about a month ago. I made sure to
wipe the drive before restoring to it with gparted. Lastly I checked
the integrity of the image to see if its restoreable both when I made
it and before I tried to restore it.
I took two pictures of the screen. The first image has all the options
I used and the second has the error. Any advice? Thanks in advance for
the help! -L
It looks like the partition table was not created successfully on your /dev/sda disk, as the error message "No space left on device". Hence I think maybe your /dev/sda is too small? Compared to the source disk which you saved the image.
