I just installed windows 7 x64 enterprise on a new PC and I went to backup the install in an image. I booted from the clonezilla CD, but at the end of the day, all I got was a prompt for "debian login". I tried my username and password from windows, but that was not recognized.
I made several clonezilla images of this PC last week when I had XPx64 installed, and there was no problem. These are the specs of the system, in case that matters somehow.
GA-X58-UD3R
i7 920
6GB mushkin DDR3 1600MHz
HD 4670
OCZ Vertex 60GB SSD (System Drive)
2x WDCB 640GB data drives
Anyone have any idea why clonezilla won't start. I get the initial screen to select clonezilla, then a million lines of text go by, and then I end up at the debian login.
Thanks,
LMHmedchem

Thanks for the info! I don't really know what W7 could have changed to cause this, but since you are a few versions off of stable is there any chance you could try this with clonezilla 1.2.2-31?
If you are unable to restore a previous image with a newer version, please let us know as that would be considered a defect.
Thanks!
Alan

The newer version worked fine, it was also much faster. The old version took a very long time to load with XPx64, this one was quite fast. Making the image took a while, but that's because Win7x64 is 26GB on install. Why in the world would anyone ever believe that someone would want an OS that large. XPx64 was 4GB on install and linux is more like 2GB. You can't uninstall any OS features as far as I can tell, you can disable them, but you are stuck with them on the drive.
Thanks for the help,

lmhmedchem,
Glad to hear that worked! And thanks for the heads up about W7 size, that's nuts.
