It should be backward compatibility unless there is a bug.
Or maybe your image is from "saveparts" (saved from partition only), and you want to restore it with "restoredisk" (restore to a whole disk)?
In the older version , this is not checked, however, the later version does.

I created an image on a samba mount using an older version of Clonezilla - I'm guessing 1.2.something
The current stable doesn't seem to see that image - I'm not offered the restoredisk option.
I found an old CD with clonezilla 1.2.6 on it, and it DOES offer the restore.
So are old images incompatible with newer versions? Is there a 'conversion' process or will I have to restore it and re-back it up again?
