I'm planning on imaging a disk to an external HD. I know that the ExHD has to be the same size or larger as the source drive (no problem there), but I also read that Clonezilla only copies actual files. How does this impact image size?
In other words, if I create an image of a 750gb drive onto a 1tb drive, will the image be the full 750gb or will it only be the size of the used space on the 750gb drive?
Thanks!

To simplify: do I need 750gb free on the 1tb drive?
Thanks!
For imaging, normally no. Since by default the image will be compressed.
For cloning, I can say yes….
