n00b here. been a while since i did something like this. do i have to do anything special to mount or use an external usb drive as a target or do they just show up in a list like internal drives? looking to image my fresh windows install to an external usb drive.
thanks,
BabaG

don't think i follow this. not sure what 'same USB key of Clonezilla' means. i'd be running clonezilla from a cd.
i'm just trying to make an image of my c: system drive. i'd like the image to be placed on an external usb hard drive. what i'm wondering is if clonezilla will automatically detect and mount that external usb hard drive or if i have to manually do that.
sorry if i've misunderstood and thanks for the reply,
BabaG

If you want to use the same USB key of Clonezilla live as the image repository, you have to choose "To RAM" option in the boot menu:
http://clonezilla.org/fine-print-live-doc.php?path=./clonezilla-live/doc/01_Save_disk_image/01-clonezilla-boot-menu.doc#01-clonezilla-boot-menu.doc
Then you can mount it again after booting as the image repository.
